Nine-time Nigerian champions, Enyimba International FC, secured a 4-1 victory over Black Bulls FC of Maputo in their Day 4 fixture of the 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup, Group D.
The win served as a measure of revenge for the Aba-based team, following their 0-3 loss to the Mozambican side on Day 3.
The match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo saw Enyimba take an early lead in the 6th minute through Joseph Atule, giving the hosts a strong start.
However, Black Bulls responded quickly, leveling the score 1-1 with a set-piece goal from Ejeita Ifoni just six minutes later.
Enyimba’s preparations in Uyo, bolstered by the managerial change that saw veteran coach Stanley Eguma replace Yemi Olanrewaju, paid off in the second half.
The introduction of Brown Ideye as a substitute further boosted Enyimba’s attack.
Ifeanyi Ihiemekwala restored the lead for Enyimba just before halftime, while Ideye netted their third goal in the 67th minute.
Despite the comprehensive win, Enyimba remain at the bottom of the Group D standings, tied with Black Bulls on 4 points and a goal difference of -2.
