Ahead of the forthcoming council elections in Ondo State, scheduled for Friday, 18th January 2025, the Ondo State Police Command has announced a restriction of vehicular and motorcycle movements for security reasons.
The restriction will be in effect from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the election day.
The state Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, urged commuters who may have to pass through the state to adjust their travel plans accordingly for the day.
However, security personnel, health workers, firefighters, and other essential service providers will be allowed free movement, including in cases of emergencies.
The command also urged all eligible voters to abide by the rules governing the electoral process while exercising their civic duty.
It warned potential miscreants to stay clear, assuring that adequate security measures had been put in place to ensure a smooth election exercise.
