
The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed her congratulations to Amanda Azubuike following her recent promotion to the rank of Brigadier General in the United States Army.
In a statement issued from Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa lauded Azubuike’s remarkable achievement, emphasizing that it reflects her unwavering commitment, leadership, and outstanding service to her country.
Azubuike, born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, joined the U.S. Army in 1994, where she trained as an aviator.
Over the course of her distinguished career, she has taken on various high-level roles, including platoon leader, flight operations officer, and public affairs officer. She currently holds the position of Deputy Commanding Officer at the U.S. Army Cadet Command.
Dabiri-Erewa highlighted that Azubuike’s promotion not only breaks significant barriers but also underscores the invaluable contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora to global affairs.
