In a move to strengthen security operations in Gombe State, Governor Muhammadu Yahaya has provided 50 operational vehicles to security agencies, enhancing their ability to combat crime and maintain stability.
The announcement was made during the second Gombe State Security Summit, held at the International Conference Centre, where stakeholders gathered to discuss pressing security challenges in the state and the wider North-East region.
Governor Yahaya underscored the importance of a united approach in tackling insecurity. “Ensuring safety requires collaboration across all levels—security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society, and the private sector must work together,” he stated.
The General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Folusho Oyinola, commended the initiative, describing Gombe as “one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria.”
The summit featured expert insights from retired security professionals, including Gen. Abdulrasheed Aliyu and AIG Zubairu Mu’azu, who highlighted the role of technology, intelligence gathering, and community policing in strengthening security efforts.
