The Bayelsa State Government has officially lifted its ban on employment into the state’s civil service, opening the door for fresh recruitment.
A special announcement from the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission, signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Stanley Sokari, confirms that applications must be submitted no later than March 21, 2025.
Interested candidates should address their applications to the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission, clearly stating the position applied for, along with details such as age, sex, hometown, local government area, qualifications, professional certifications, and work experience.
The employment embargo was first imposed after the recruitment of 1,000 graduates under former Governor Seriake Dickson, with concerns over the state’s monthly wage bill. However, there were reports of covert employment during that period.
Governor Douye Diri has now approved fresh employment, ensuring that qualified Bayelsa indigenes can secure positions in the civil service.
Applications must be submitted to the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission on or before March 21, 2025.
