The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions has postponed the disciplinary hearing of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central.
The proceeding, initially set for March 6, was rescheduled via a letter from the Clerk to the Committee, Christian Onwusonye, dated March 5. The hearing will now take place at Meeting Room 120, New Senate Building, National Assembly, Abuja.
This follows a heated exchange on February 20, when Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan clashed with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seat allocation, defying his directives and repeatedly raising a point of order. Senator Yemi Adaramodu (Ekiti South) later argued that her actions had tarnished the Senate’s image, prompting a referral to the Ethics Committee for review.
The committee assured that the rescheduling does not affect the validity of the original invitation and apologized for any inconvenience.
