The President of Lombardy Regional Government in Italy, Attilio Fontana, has pledged to collaborate with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to establish a vocational training centre in Abuja and offer training opportunities for Abuja’s youth in Lombardy.
Speaking during a meeting on Thursday in Milan with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, President Fontana expressed a commitment to support the development of agriculture in the FCT, particularly through the introduction of modern farming technologies.
Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka shared details of the meeting in a statement from Milan.
The Minister emphasized the strength of Lombardy in both agriculture and vocational education, noting Abuja’s fertile land makes it ideal for agribusiness development.
Wike also underscored the importance of vocational training, especially in ICT, as a means of fostering self-employment, reducing crime, and improving the prospects for the region’s youth.
Fontana assured the FCTA of Lombardy’s support in identifying priority areas and exploring ways to assist in developing the sector
