Nigeria’s table tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri, has reclaimed his position as Africa’s top-ranked player, according to the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings.
Quadri had earlier lost the continental No. 1 spot to Egypt’s Omar Assar after falling to him in the African Cup final. However, a stellar performance at the recent WTT Contender tournament has propelled him back ahead of Assar.
The updated ITTF rankings place Quadri at 18th in the world, while Assar drops to 19th.
The Nigerian Olympian will have another opportunity to climb even higher when he competes at the WTT Contender Chennai in India next week.
