
President Bola Tinubu has officially launched the construction of the access road to the 2nd Niger Bridge.
This move highlights its significance in boosting trade, enhancing regional connectivity, and improving road safety for communities in Delta State.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President—represented by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerating infrastructural development as a key driver of economic growth.
Oborevwori emphasised that modernising infrastructure is crucial for Nigeria’s ambition to become a global economic powerhouse.
“As we commence the construction of Phase 2A of the access road to the 2nd Niger Bridge, I commend the governments of Delta and Anambra States for their cooperation and support,” he stated.
“Such partnerships are essential for fostering trust, good governance, national cohesion, and sustainable development.”
President Tinubu also urged motorists to remain patient and cooperate with contractors during the construction process to ensure smooth execution.Commitment to Infrastructure Development
Minister of Works, David Umahi, reiterated the administration’s dedication to completing major projects inherited from previous governments, assuring Nigerians of steady progress on critical infrastructure initiatives.
Traditional rulers from Asaba, Oko-Amakun, Okwe, Ibusa, Okpanam, and Issele-Azagba hailed the project as transformational, expressing gratitude for the expected economic and social benefits.
A representative of the construction firm assured that the road would be built to the highest standards using reinforced concrete pavement, ensuring durability and longevity.
