Controversial Nigerian socialite Bobrisky has sparked confusion with an Instagram post on April 1, 2025, in which he claimed to have been arrested by immigration officials shortly after returning to Nigeria.
In the post, Bobrisky, who had left the country five months earlier to focus on his health and well-being, said he was detained without being informed of the reason for his arrest.
This statement appears to be a prank, coming months after Bobrisky publicly revealed his decision to leave Nigeria in late 2024. In a previous interview, the social media personality had shared that he was relocating abroad to address the mental and physical toll that constant online criticism and personal struggles were taking on him.
In a post from November 2024, Bobrisky had written: “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily… I need to attend to my sanity and my health.
Few Nigeria security agencies try everything to frustrate me but naaa i gat God. Imagine!!! buying business class ticket 3 times, only 1 was successful. @kIm I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. I know it’s not your fault but it’s fine.”
At this time, Bobrisky remains outside the country, and it is unclear whether his claims of being detained are part of an elaborate joke or a true incident. Fans and followers have responded with a mix of disbelief and amusement, speculating that the post may be an April Fools’ Day prank.
