The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused opposition parties of plotting to create unrest and make the state ungovernable.
Speaking at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, APC Chairman Jarret Tenebe claimed that the opposition’s goal was to pressure President Bola Tinubu into declaring a state of emergency in Edo.
Tenebe made the allegations ahead of the tribunal’s judgment on the petition filed by PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo, challenging the outcome of the September 21, 2024, governorship election.
He further accused opposition groups of resorting to sabotage, allegedly enlisting former members of the disbanded State Security Network to incite violence, citing recent unrest in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area.
