The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is calling for unity among party aspirants ahead of the crucial Anambra governorship election slated for November 8.
Speaking in Abuja during the official presentation of the certificate of return to the party’s flagbearer, Mr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, Dr. Ganduje urged all stakeholders to close ranks and rally behind the party’s choice to ensure electoral success.
He praised the APC primary election committee for what he described as a transparent and credible process—one that, according to him, has set the tone for internal democracy and party discipline.
Responding after receiving the certificate, Mr. Ukachukwu described his emergence as the will of committed party members at the grassroots. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting democratic values within the party, noting that his victory was not driven by imposition or godfatherism, but through active engagement with party delegates across wards and local councils.
Mr. Ukachukwu promised to prioritise security, youth empowerment, and economic revitalisation in Anambra State if elected governor. He also extended an olive branch to his fellow aspirants, urging them to join hands in building a formidable campaign that will deliver APC’s first-ever win in the state.
The APC now shifts focus to strengthening its campaign strategy in what is expected to be a keenly contested governorship election.
