
The All Progressives Congress, APC, has released fees for aspirants contesting the July 12 Local Government Elections in Lagos State.
Chairmanship hopefuls will pay five million naira for nomination forms, plus five hundred thousand naira as an administrative fee.
Female aspirants will pay two-point-five million naira, while persons with disabilities won’t pay for nomination, but will pay two hundred and fifty thousand naira for administration.
The party says aspirants under forty years old will get a fifty percent discount on nomination fees, but will still pay the full administrative charges.
For councillorship seats, male aspirants will pay one million naira for forms and one hundred thousand naira as administrative fee.
Female councillors will pay two hundred and fifty thousand naira for nomination, and the same one hundred thousand naira for administration.
Youth aspirants will also enjoy a fifty percent discount, while persons with disabilities will get nomination forms free, but pay fifty thousand naira for processing.
The APC says chairmanship aspirants must be at least thirty years old, while councillorship candidates must be twenty-five.
They must all show proof of party membership, loyalty, and sign the party’s code of conduct.
Finally, any party official who wants to contest must resign thirty days before the primaries
