President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ending terrorism and insurgency, describing the effort as “a battle for the soul of Nigeria.”
Addressing military personnel during a visit to Katsina Airport on Thursday, President Tinubu praised the armed forces for their sacrifices and pledged continued government support.
“You are the shield of Nigeria,” he told the troops. “Every terrorist you neutralise, every community you secure, is a victory for justice and the future of our children.”
The president promised improved welfare for service members, including housing, insurance, and support for their families, adding that “no sacrifice in service to the nation will go unnoticed.”
He urged the troops to remain resolute and focused in the ongoing fight against insecurity across the country.
“This is not just about territory. It is about the future of our country,” he said.
President Tinubu ended his address with a prayer for the troops’ safety and for national unity and prosperity.
