Senator Nenadi Usman at “Obi: The Political Change Agent” Book Launch in Abuja
The Acting Chairman of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, has challenged political office seekers in Nigeria to rethink the essence of leadership, the purpose of political parties, and the role of ordinary citizens in driving transformational change.
Speaking in Abuja at the public presentation of the book “Obi: The Political Change Agent”, Senator Usman emphasized that patriotism must move beyond passive admiration to active participation.
She urged attendees to draw not only from the story of Peter Obi but from the powerful civic movement he inspired. According to her, “Nigeria must and shall rise again through meticulous leadership, courageous citizens, and uncompromising values.”
As Chairman of the occasion, Senator Usman also called for a renewed national commitment to building a country where character counts, competence leads, and conscience prevails.
The 250-page book, written by veteran journalist Ike Abonyi, offers a bold examination of Peter Obi’s public service, while exploring themes such as electoral intrigue, media warfare, identity politics, and ideological resolvedescribed by Usman as vital to understanding Nigeria’s evolving democratic terrain.
She commended the author for what she called an unflinching contribution to political discourse and urged Nigerians to embrace the call for a “New Nigeria.”
