The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has taken the state’s infrastructure ambitions to the global stage, as he attends the 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum in Macao, China.
Governor Oborevwori, who is joined by his counterpart from Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, is among several high-profile delegates participating in the prestigious event hosted in the special administrative region of China.
Speaking at the forum, Governor Oborevwori outlined his administration’s vision to elevate Delta State’s infrastructure to globally accepted standards. He emphasised a commitment to delivering sustainable, high-quality projects that drive economic growth and enhance the lives of residents across the oil-rich state in Nigeria’s south-south region.
The governor’s remarks were aimed at attracting international investors and development partners, positioning Delta as a ready and willing participant in global infrastructure partnerships and innovation.
Accompanying the governor are Delta State’s Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, and the Governor’s Technical Assistant, Mr. Bob Nakpodia.

Now in its 16th year, the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum—widely regarded as one of the most influential platforms for global infrastructure cooperation—brings together stakeholders across government, finance, engineering, consultancy and manufacturing.
This year’s edition hosts over 3,500 participants from more than 70 countries and regions, including over 60 ministerial delegations. The event serves as a strategic platform for dialogue, innovation, and partnership in the evolving landscape of infrastructure development.
Governor Oborevwori’s participation reflects a growing effort by Nigerian sub-nationals to engage with global frameworks and attract sustainable investment to fast-track development at home.
