Nigeria Education Loan Fund unveils fully digitised Student Loan Application System to fast-track disbursements.
The Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the full digitisation of its Student Loan Application System (SLAS) as part of efforts to accelerate the processing and disbursement of education loans.
In a statement released by the Director of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, NELFUND urged all accredited tertiary institutions to request access to the platform in order to verify and upload relevant student data.
The Fund described this step as critical to ensuring timely loan approvals and disbursements for eligible students.
According to NELFUND, once granted access, institutions will be able to:
- View a real-time dashboard of loan applicants from their schools
- Verify student information submitted during applications
- Track the status of each application from start to disbursement
The digital upgrade is expected to reduce delays, eliminate manual bottlenecks, and improve transparency across Nigeria’s education financing system.
