
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, says stronger economic collaboration between Ogun and Oyo states is critical for food production and security.
Governor Abiodun made the call in Ibadan during a closed-door meeting with his Oyo State counterpart, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Ogun State governor emphasized the historical and economic ties binding the two states, describing them as vital to regional development.
Governor Abiodun commended ongoing agricultural initiatives in Oyo and reaffirmed Ogun’s commitment to food production through farm estates in Odeda, Imeko, and Yewa North areas sharing borders with Oyo State.
On security, Governor Abiodun noted its role as a pillar of sustainable development and praised the Western Nigeria Security Network, known as Amotekun, for its efforts in maintaining safety.
The meeting marks a renewed commitment by both states to regional cooperation for economic growth and the well-being of their citizens.
