Super Falcons coach Justine Madugu gets $100,000 bonus after guiding the team to a record 10th WAFCON title
The Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Justine Madugu, will receive an enhanced financial reward from the Federal Government following the team’s historic triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Madugu, who masterminded a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Morocco in Rabat, will now earn over $100,000, matching the amount given to each player.
This represents a significant increase from the initial $50,000 announced by President Bola Tinubu when he hosted the victorious squad in Abuja.
Sports journalist Osasu Obayiuwana confirmed the new development, citing the National Sports Commission. The upgrade highlights the government’s recognition of Madugu’s strategic role in leading Nigeria to a record 10th WAFCON title.
