Players battle for points during the 2025 National Volleyball League Phase One at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja — a week-long showcase of Nigeria’s best indoor volleyball talent.
The Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, will from August 11–19 host the opening phase of the 2025 National Volleyball League for Divisions 1 and 2, promising a week of top-class competition and athletic spectacle.
Organised by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) in collaboration with the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, the championship will bring together elite Division 1 sides and ambitious Division 2 challengers in Nigeria’s premier indoor volleyball contest.
The event will showcase a blend of established stars and rising talent, with fans set to witness fierce rivalries, tactical masterstrokes, and moments of pure sporting brilliance.
The build-up kicks off on Monday with an official technical meeting to finalise fixtures, confirm schedules, and brief teams on competition protocols. Matches begin on Tuesday, with teams aiming for a strong start to set the tone for the second phase later in the year.

This season’s league opener comes on the heels of Nigeria’s impressive outing at the 2025 CAVB U18 Beach Volleyball Continental Championship, concluded last Thursday in Abuja. The Nigerian girls’ team dominated by clinching both gold and silver, while the boys claimed bronze in a spirited campaign.
The Gambia secured the boys’ title, but the event was widely praised for its high-energy atmosphere and flawless organisation a standard the NVBF is determined to replicate indoors.
With the momentum of recent international success, the 2025 National Volleyball League promises an electrifying showcase of skill, passion, and competition. For players, it’s a stage to make history; for fans, an unmissable celebration of the sport.
