
NVBF President Musa Nimrod celebrates Nigerian youths at the 2025 International Youth Day, pledging continued investment in grassroots sports and talent development.
The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has congratulated Nigerian youths on the occasion of the 2025 International Youth Day, pledging continued support for their development, empowerment, and active participation in sports and nation-building.
In a goodwill message issued through his media assistant on Tuesday, Engr. Nimrod praised the resilience, creativity, and contributions of young Nigerians to peace, unity, and socio-economic progress.
“Our youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the innovators, change-makers, and champions of today. Their resilience in the face of challenges inspires hope for a brighter future,” he stated.
The NVBF President commended the achievements of youths in sports, technology, entrepreneurship, and community service, describing their energy and ingenuity as vital drivers of Nigeria’s future.

He highlighted the Federation’s sustained investment in grassroots volleyball programmes, elite training camps, and talent development schemes, noting that thousands of young athletes have benefitted under his leadership. Nimrod reaffirmed his resolve to introduce more youth-focused initiatives that promote education, skill acquisition, and sustainable development through sports.
He also urged young people to avoid substance abuse and vices that could derail their ambitions, instead embracing discipline, dedication, and self-improvement.
His remarks came as the 2025 National Division 1 & 2 Volleyball Leagues officially served off at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja. The event features top-tier and emerging teams from across Nigeria, with matches running from August 11 to 19.

Engr. Nimrod stressed that the league is in line with the NVBF’s strategic vision of using competitive sport as a vehicle for youth engagement, national integration, and the discovery of future volleyball stars.
“Every spike, serve, and block you see here in Abuja this week is proof of the incredible potential within our youths. The NVBF will continue to nurture that potential,” he affirmed.
