Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, known as “Portable,” wanted for allegedly attacking government officials on duty.
According to police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola, a valid court order has been issued for his arrest and presentation at any police station.
The incident occurred on February 5, when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota.
The officials; TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, were reportedly assaulted while performing their duties.
Reports indicate that the officials had initially engaged an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at his Odogwu Bar.
While requesting the approved building plan for an ongoing structure, Portable allegedly arrived with nine others wielding dangerous weapons and attacked the officials, who sustained injuries before managing to escape.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action. Meanwhile, Portable has denied the allegations, claiming he is being set up.
