The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has launched a new career mentorship programme aimed at equipping women with the skills and opportunities needed to advance into leadership positions.
Announcing the initiative during the International Women’s Day celebration in Lagos, FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to fostering gender equality in the workplace. She emphasized that career progression should be based on competence and performance rather than gender-based preferences.
FAAN’s spokesperson, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, urged women to take ownership of their professional growth by networking strategically and continuously upgrading their skills. She also highlighted the importance of women uplifting one another rather than competing.
Guest speakers at the event, including Prof. Anthony Kila and Dr. Toyin Magbagbeola, advised women to prioritize their health and well-being, noting that physical and mental wellness play a key role in career success.
The event featured panel discussions, mentorship sessions, and drama performances, attracting professionals across the aviation sector
