The Federal Government has issued new guidelines for civil servants seeking to migrate their salaries, change their names, or update their next-of-kin details.
In a memo dated March 12, 2025, the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to adhere strictly to the new requirements when processing such requests.
The memo noted that many civil servants fail to submit the necessary documents when making changes to their personal records, causing delays in processing approvals.
To streamline the process, the government has outlined a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that must be followed for modifications to employees’ records on the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS).
It emphasized that with the full implementation of the Human Resource component of the IPPIS in the Federal Public Service, compliance with these requirements is essential for efficient processing.
The memo warned that any requests submitted without the specified documents would not be processed, urging MDAs to ensure strict adherence to the guidelines.
