
Troops of Sector 2, in collaboration with the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, have dealt a decisive blow to terrorist activities in Katsina and Zamfara States, rescuing 101 kidnapped victims and eliminating 10 terrorists in a series of coordinated offensives on March 17 and 18, 2025.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, troops launched a precision assault on a terrorist enclave at Pauwa High Ground in Kankara Local Government, Katsina State, neutralizing three terrorists and securing the release of 84 captives. The freed victims were swiftly handed over to local authorities for care and reintegration.
In Zamfara State, acting on credible intelligence, troops stormed a terrorist stronghold in Bagabuzu, Faru District, Maradun Local Government, eliminating seven insurgents and recovering a motorcycle and other critical items. Further advances into Tsibiri and Doka villages in Shinkafi Local Government led to the rescue of 17 hostages, who are currently receiving medical attention.
The military reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to crushing terrorism in the region, warning insurgents that their days are numbered. Operation Fansan Yamma urged residents to remain vigilant and support security efforts, emphasizing that community collaboration is crucial in sustaining these victories.
