The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has dismissed reports suggesting that the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) registration will close on Monday, April 7.
In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB clarified that the registration exercise will remain open until an official closing date is announced.
Dr. Benjamin explained that the decision to extend the registration period is to accommodate ongoing investigations into candidates suspected of presenting fraudulent A-Level results. Some individuals have reportedly been arrested or are currently under scrutiny for attempting to gain admission using forged academic credentials.
The Board cautioned individuals with questionable qualifications to abstain from the registration process, noting that enhanced screening mechanisms have been put in place to detect and disqualify such entries.
Furthermore, candidates who have previously gained admission through fraudulent means are urged to voluntarily withdraw, as JAMB’s investigations are being extended to include already admitted students.
JAMB reiterated its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the admission process and ensuring that only qualified candidates are granted access to Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.
