The Federal Capital Territory Administration says plans are on to transform its six area councils into vibrant hubs for tourism and investment.
Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, made this known at the maiden FCT Area Councils’ Tourism and Hospitality Investment Carnival and Expo held in Abuja on Tuesday.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Social Development Secretariat, Bunmi Olowookere, the minister said the initiative is part of broader efforts to boost economic growth through cultural heritage, innovation, and rural development.
She stressed that showcasing the unique investment and tourism potential of the area councils would help stimulate the local economy and attract both local and foreign investors.
Olowookere also reiterated the FCT Administration’s commitment to supporting exhibitions and programmes that deepen tourism, hospitality, and rural revitalisation.
