The Kwara State Government has approved a revised 2024 Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for doctors, as part of strategic efforts to retain skilled medical professionals and strengthen the state’s healthcare system.
Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospital Management Board, Dr Abdulraheem Malik, announced the development during a media briefing in Ilorin.
Dr Malik said the new salary structure is aimed at tackling the brain drain crisis and creating a more attractive environment for healthcare workers to stay and thrive within the state.
He noted that the board’s long-term vision is to deliver high-quality, equitable, and timely healthcare to all residents through innovation and accountability.
In a bid to modernize the sector, Dr Malik revealed that the state is also embracing climate-smart healthcare, with solar power installations already completed at several hospitals across Offa, Adewole, Ajase Ipo, Eruku, Tsaragi, and Isin.
He added that the government is committed to continuous training and capacity building for medical personnel to improve service delivery across Kwara.
