President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Anambra for his first official visit to the south-eastern state since assuming office.
He was received on Thursday by Governor Chukwuma Soludo at the state capital, Awka.
In anticipation of the visit, political parties and support groups were advised to avoid partisan displays. The directive, issued by the Anambra State Government, requested that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and other political outfits refrain from wearing party uniforms during the president’s tour.
Dr Alex Obiogbolu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, said the move aimed to “avoid unnecessary political showmanship” and promote a unified, respectful atmosphere for the president’s engagement.
During the visit, President Tinubu is expected to inaugurate several state government projects, including Anambra’s first-ever Government House, a milestone achievement for the administration of Governor Soludo.
The visit marks a significant moment in federal-state relations, particularly as Anambra remains under the leadership of APGA while the president is a member of the ruling APC.
