Coach Gbenga Ogunbote in talks with Kano Pillars following Usman Abdallah’s resignation.
Kano Pillars are reportedly in advanced discussions with Shooting Stars’ head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, as they seek to appoint a new Technical Adviser following the departure of Usman Abdallah.
Abdallah recently stepped down from his role with the Kano-based side, citing personal reasons. In the wake of his resignation, club officials are believed to have approached Ogunbote, a seasoned tactician with a track record in Nigeria’s top-flight football.
Ogunbote, who currently heads Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, still has one year remaining on his contract. Sources close to the club suggest he intends to honour the terms of his existing deal, despite the interest from Sai Masu Gida.
Kano Pillars are expected to make a formal approach if talks progress, though no official confirmation has been issued by either club.
