According to family and community sources, the revered monarch passed away at approximately 10 a.m. on Thursday, bringing an early close to a reign marked by peace, cultural pride, and grassroots engagement.
The Chief Imam of Idofian, Alhaji Mohammed Tohir Alao, announced that the Janazah (Islamic funeral) prayer will take place at 4 p.m. today in line with Islamic rites.
Oba Muhammed Jamiu Olanrewaju was officially installed as Oludofian of Idofian in January 2024, following his appointment by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. His brief tenure on the throne left a notable impact, especially in fostering communal harmony and preserving local traditions.
