A tragic incident occurred on January 15, 2025, involving a two-year-old girl named Pinky Ella, a pupil at Smiley Kids Montessori in Sangotedo, Lagos State.
The school authorities claimed that the child drowned in the school’s swimming pool. However, the mother alleges foul play, suggesting that her daughter was electrocuted and then placed in the pool to simulate a drowning incident.
She questioned how a two-year-old could access the pool area, which has a high barricade designed to prevent children from entering.
In response to the incident, the Lagos State Government has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has acknowledged the case and assured the public that it will thoroughly examine the situation to ensure justice is served.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and no conclusive findings have been released. The public is urged to await the official report from the authorities regarding the cause of death and any potential legal actions against those responsible.
